Auckland, New Zealand – April 2, 2019 – Cohesity, the leader of hyperconverged secondary storage, is accelerating its regional presence in New Zealand with the appointment of Spectrum Consulting as the company’s first cloud service provider in the country. In addition, Spectrum also becomes an authorised Cohesity reseller enabling it to offer a solution that empowers customers to back up, recover, store, manage, and extract maximum insights from their secondary data on-premises and in the cloud.
Established in 2001, Spectrum is a nationwide managed services company which helps large enterprises reduce the cost and complexity of their IT infrastructure. Spectrum achieves this with a suite of solutions and critical services focused on cloud, networking, security, and data.
The addition of Cohesity to Spectrum’s portfolio of solutions will enable the Kiwi-based company to further build and deliver highly differentiated secondary data and application services to meet the demands of enterprise customers.
Secondary data pertains to approximately 80 percent of an enterprise’s total data volume and includes data used for backups, archiving, testing and development, analytics, and other use cases.
Today, many enterprises are facing critical challenges with mass data fragmentation where secondary data sits in silos that don’t integrate and require multiple products to manage, and can therefore increase infrastructure costs and complexities.
Spectrum can now offer services based on Cohesity’s web-scale platform that consolidates these data silos onto one software-defined platform that can increase IT efficiencies, reduce compliance challenges, and lead to better business outcomes.
In addition, Spectrum will be able to offer a SaaS-based data management solution to its customers. This solution, called Cohesity Helios, empowers customers to see, manage, and take action on their secondary data globally — from a single dashboard — while benefiting from powerful analytics and machine learning capabilities that can generate valuable insights from untapped data.
“Spectrum will now be able to offer a suite of holistic services based on Cohesity technology to customers across a host of different industries,” said Anton Aalders, director of sales and technology, Spectrum. “Cohesity is a great fit for us. It is very intuitive and provides a powerful way to perform backup, analytics, testing and development, archiving, file shares, and object storage from one platform – while also helping customers extract powerful business insights from their data.”
“The combination of Spectrum’s highly prized managed services and their impressive credibility among large enterprises will enable Cohesity to scale our business in New Zealand,” said Kathryn Ramanathan, channel and alliances manager for Australia and New Zealand, Cohesity. “Together with Spectrum, we can empower customers with unique capabilities to directly address mass data fragmentation challenges on-premises, in the cloud, and at the edge.”
Cohesity now has a number of resellers and cloud service providers across Australia and New Zealand including national players such as Data#3, Nexion Networks, and Spectrum Consulting.
