Cohesity Announces New
VP of Sales for EMEA

London – May 14, 2019 – Cohesity, the leader of hyperconverged secondary storage, today announced the appointment of Dirk Marichal as the company’s vice president of sales for the EMEA region.

Marichal will have complete oversight for the company’s business development and sales operations throughout the region, ensuring there is close alignment between Cohesity’s growing partner base and the company’s go-to-market strategy. Marichal will oversee Cohesity’s rapid expansion throughout EMEA.

In this capacity, Marichal will empower customers and partners to embrace Cohesity’s modern data management capabilities that make backup data productive and offer radical simplicity for archiving, disaster recovery, ransomware prevention, testing and development, and more – all within a single solution. In addition, Marichal will play a critical role in helping customers solve mass data fragmentation challenges.

Marichal is an accomplished business and sales leader, with more than 20 years of experience across a variety of software and hardware technology sectors including networking, security, data center, and hyperconverged infrastructure. Marichal also has extensive expertise in helping customers advance their businesses within on-premises, hybrid, and cloud environments.

Marichal previously served as vice president of sales at Avi Networks, with responsibility for EMEA and India. Prior to that, the Belgian held a similar role at Nutanix, increasing global bookings by 25 percent within three years. Prior to Nutanix, Dirk led EMEA sales at Infoblox and was instrumental in taking the company from its position as a relatively unknown startup to revenues in excess of $200 million, which was followed by a successful IPO in 2012.

Cohesity recently announced that revenues in EMEA increased by 365 percent with strong growth across a variety of verticals including financial services, public sector, and healthcare. In recent months the EMEA team has grown to well over 100 employees, around ten percent of the overall workforce.
