An Open Letter to Our Customers

To our valued customers,

Today is an incredible moment in the 10-year history of Cohesity. I’m excited to share that we are turbo-charging our mission to manage, secure, and provide insights into the world’s data with the announcement that we have entered into a definitive agreement under which Cohesity intends to combine with Veritas’s data protection business, which will be carved out of Veritas, to create a new leader in the data security and management industry. The deal is expected to close by the end of 2024, subject to regulatory approval and other customary closing conditions. Together, we will create a powerful, integrated organization that I will be honored to lead as CEO and President, upon the close of the deal.

Our combined company will continue to invest in and advance the roadmap and strategy of all Cohesity products and services, as well as Veritas NetBackup, NetBackup appliances, and Alta data protection offerings, while working towards the delivery of an integrated solution combining the best technology across the two companies. Once combined, the company is committed to supporting all product lines from both organizations for many years.

Cohesity’s mission is to protect, secure, and provide insights into the world’s data, so that the largest organizations around the globe can rely on us to strengthen their business resilience. This is a top imperative from the “shop floor” of the IT practitioner to the top floor of the Board room. Given the rampant threat of ransomware, every organization needs a cyber resilience strategy. Furthermore, technology and business executives now have a unique opportunity to leverage the power of generative AI for data-driven insights, unleashing new levels of efficiency, innovation, and growth.

The combined innovations of Cohesity and Veritas address these challenges directly, offering organizations a comprehensive multicloud data protection portfolio with a powerful, simple user experience, and a high-performance, centrally-managed hyperconverged platform. This combination creates a new leader in the data security and management industry with complementary product offerings that drive significantly more value from the new gold: data. We believe this combination presents customers and partners with a compelling choice to drive more value from protecting and gaining insights from their data than ever before.

Together, we will help customers manage 100s of exabytes of data, have a global footprint, serve 96 of the Fortune 100 and over 80% of the Fortune Global 500, and offer customers the benefits of our strong partner ecosystem across cloud service providers, security players, VARs, system integrators, and hardware OEMs.

After the close of the transaction, we look forward to providing you with many new services and areas of expertise in the future, but in the meantime, I want to point out:
