Demos, a DJ, and More: Cohesity at AWS Summit ANZ

On May 18 and 19, the Australia and New Zealand cloud community gathered online to hear keynotes, immerse themselves in education and hands-on labs, and chat with experts at AWS Summit ANZ. Cohesity was part of this new summit experience, meeting new people, having great conversations, and highlighting our great services. Here’s a quick roundup of our activities at this exciting two-day event.

DMaaS: The Proof Was in … the Demos

The online format and immersive experience gave us the chance to make a big product announcement especially for Australia and New Zealand and then almost immediately showcase it. Using “Cohesity + AWS = The Perfect Pair” as our theme, on the first day, we shared that Cohesity Data Management as a Service (DMaaS) is now available in the Australia and New Zealand region. We also opened our virtual Live Demo Room, hosted by our data management gurus so that attendees could “drop by” to see Cohesity DMaaS at work. Summit attendees also had the opportunity to sign up personalized, 1:1 demos with our experts. After attending the 1:1 demos, they received a pair of Beats EP On-Ear Headphones.

For those attendees interested in seeing how Cohesity DMaaS radically simplifies the way data is backed up, secured, governed, and analyzed in a session instead of a room, we hosted two live demos, one for each day of the summit. Cohesity Field CTO Theresa Miller led the sessions with Cohesity APAC Director of Systems Engineering Derek Cohen. After a brief overview of Cohesity and its mission, Theresa explained the benefits of data backup as a service, and then it was time for show-and-tell. Attendees saw our simple, intuitive GUI and heard about some of the upcoming features we’re developing with AWS. Attendees also learned how to get started with a free trial of Cohesity DataProtect as a Service and how to protect a Microsoft 365 workload. Attendees also received a pair of Cohesity socks as a thank you for coming to the session.

With Cohesity and AWS, we’ve been able to significantly advance our data management capabilities and gain more value and insights from the data we have.”—Kay Ekanayake, PropTrack Lead Systems Engineer

And the Beats Go On: A DJ House Party

At the end of the first day, Cohesity offered attendees the opportunity to “backup, unwind, and rewind” at a DJ House Party hosted by Kate aka DJ Wildflower, one of Australia’s top event DJs. Those who received Beats headphones or Cohesity socks as a giveaway had a chance to put them on and enjoy DJ Wildflower’s party music rewind through the 1980s, 1990s, and 2000s. Everyone else who attended were given a chance to enter a contest and win Beats of their own. The party added a festive atmosphere to the event. We were thrilled that so many joined us on the virtual dancefloor. It was a great way to unwind after a big first day.

Pump Up the DMaaS Volume

If you attended AWS Summit ANZ and got pumped up about DMaaS—or even if you missed the event—you have an opportunity to learn more. Come to our live webcast with AWS, “Modern Data Management – At Your Service,” on June 10 from 12.00PM – 12.45PM AEST to learn what modern data management means for your business and how backup as a service can simplify your data silos. You can also watch our joint AWS and Cohesity on-demand webinar, Introducing Modern Data Management for the Cloud Era, any time to learn how customers are already benefiting from our new services developed with AWS.
