The 5.3 version streamlines backup and recovery by enabling users to register, protect, and recover various resources.

Maintaining a leading edge in security and user experience is paramount in the ever-evolving landscape of digital workplace solutions. We are delighted to introduce several pivotal additions to enhance our customers’ ServiceNow experience. The most significant among them—supporting session-based authentication through ServiceNow. In addition, we now display the “Last Successful Backup Time” for all our data sources.

Latest ServiceNow release support

The Cohesity ServiceNow plugin streamlines backup and recovery processes by enabling users to register, protect, and recover various resources. Additionally, it facilitates inventory management and incident/event handling for enhanced operational efficiency in a multi-cluster environment.

The Cohesity ServiceNow plugin version 5.3 works with the latest ServiceNow releases: Utah, Vancouver, and Tokyo.

Let’s deep dive into the new features added to the latest 5.3 version of Cohesity’s ServiceNow plugin.

Session management

As organizations navigate the complex terrain of digital transformation, the need to ensure secure, efficient, and seamless access to critical data and services has never been more crucial. With session management now integrated into ServiceNow, our customers can elevate both user experience and security to a new standard.

For users of the Cohesity plugin, the choice is yours when it comes to authentication. You can opt for JWT token authentication or session-based authentication. Upon making your selection, you’ll be prompted to enter your username and password for the cluster. These credentials authenticate your access and generate a unique session ID, linking you securely to your session on the server.

“Last Successful Backup Time” added for all sources

The “Last Successful Backup Time” was initially available for VMs. In the latest version, it will now be displayed for all sources—MSSQL, Oracle, and physical sources. This enhancement was one of the most requested features by our customers. Now, our customers will get the last successful backup time updated in their CMDB table.

Strong alliance

Cohesity and ServiceNow aim to further enhance our customers’ experience not only in protecting and recovering data but also in bringing your IT and security teams together. That’s why ServiceNow joined the Data Security Alliance. We’ll continue to collaborate to help you detect threats and respond to attacks faster, improve remediation, and advance cyber resilience—all while getting more value from your existing security and data management investments.

With this Cohesity ServiceNow extension update, we’ve included your feedback for a better experience. We’re always eager to hear more from you (at support@cohesity.com) to enhance this plugin. Explore the Cohesity ServiceNow Integration and other cool integrations on the Cohesity Developer Portal.
