It feels like the fun from VMworld Las Vegas was only yesterday, but here we go again! Fast forward a couple of months and we are taking the fun to VMworld Barcelona where we have many exciting things to talk about … and, of course, show at our booth.
From news about Cohesity’s extensive and rapid growth in EMEA, to parties, to our as-always action-packed booth, we will be keeping show-goers busy! Here’s a quick rundown of our EMEA customer focus as well what we have going on at VMworld Barcelona.
Welcome new EMEA Customers!
VMworld Barcelona comes at an exciting time for us. We’ve had many amazing enterprise customers embrace Cohesity’s disruptive technology in EMEA over the last year as they look for innovative ways to drive the most value from their secondary data and applications.
Over the last five quarters (ending October 31), our Cohesity-customer family in EMEA more than quadrupled. Most of these new additions are from the United Kingdom, Germany, France, Italy, Denmark, and Switzerland. Over that same time period, revenues from EMEA sales at Cohesity have grown 365 percent, especially in the areas of financial services, public sector, and healthcare. Welcome aboard new (and future) EMEA customers!
To what do we attribute this customer growth? Many companies in EMEA – just like those here in the United States – are wrestling with mass data fragmentation challenges, where secondary data workloads — such as backup, file and object shares, test-dev, and analytics — live in siloes scattered across multiple locations, on-premises, and in the cloud. Legacy point products used by enterprises to manage these siloes have proven expensive and inefficient — a challenge that Cohesity’s unified, scalable DataPlatform resolves by consolidating all their secondary apps and data.
Growing here, there, and everywhere!
To meet this increased demand, Cohesity has added more Cohesians to directly serve our EMEA customers. From August 2017 to present, we have added a 78% headcount growth in EMEA and we are continuing with that trend. We are also partnering with key service providers globally, including Fundaments, based in the Netherlands. Fundaments is offering simplified backup and disaster recovery services to customers from Cohesity’s single, web-scale platform.
Introducing some awesome EMEA customers
So who are some of these new EMEA customers? You frequently hear Cohesians talking about customer obsession – especially at shows – and VMworld Barcelona is no exception. One customer we’ll be talking about a lot this week is Sensirion AG, one of the leading manufacturers of digital microsensors and sensor systems. Faced with backup storage in need of expansion, and operating costs on the rise, Sensirion deployed Cohesity’s hyperconverged DataPlatform to solve its legacy backup challenge.
Deploying Cohesity also lays the groundwork for Sensirion’s eventual move to cloud archiving, with a goal of shrinking tape infrastructure to a minimum. Sensirion is furthermore considering using Cohesity as a management environment for secondary storage with archiving, analytics, file and object shares, and testing facilities.
Another customer we’ll be talking about a lot this week is Sector Alarm, a leading European security solutions provider that is using Cohesity data protection to unify its secondary data, including backup and recovery, test/dev, and analytics on Cohesity.
