We just wrapped up an amazing week at Pure Storage’s annual user conference, PureAccelerate. If you’ve attended any Pure sponsored event or spent anytime learning about Pure Storage products you are immediately aware of their fondness for the color Orange. More importantly Pure and every employee you meet along the way is passionate about creating truly disruptive products that impact the customer experience in a positive and transformative way. One of the leading messages at Pure Storage is moving away from spinning media to All Flash architectures and their #NoDisk tagline has been synonymous with breaking free of traditional storage products and data silos.
Cohesity has partnered with Pure Storage from the very beginning. We understood that Cohesity was bringing a similar message to the data protection, secondary storage/data management space to our customers. We’ve seen north of a 50% adoption rate of customers deploying Pure Storage products in their datacenters, and it was great catching up with so many of our joint customers the last few days. We hosted a night out with Pure and our customers at the Giants game with Giants Hall of Famer Orlando Cepeda for a truly amazing experience at the ball park.
Now as for the conference I’d like to highlight a few of the biggest takeaways.
First off the conference was held at Pier 70, on San Francisco’s eastern waterfront. The building is well over 100 years old and was used as a shipbuilding center for schooners, river steamboats and even warships that fought the country’s battles from the Spanish-American War to Vietnam. This place screamed legacy spinning rust from the outside but packed with nothing but nothing less than PURE awesome on the inside.
The energy of Pure Storage customers and partners is truly amazing. The buzz transferred over to the Cohesity Plinko booth where we had folks lined up throughout the 3 day show looking for ways to simplify their data protection and secondary storage environments much like they did with Pure for their mission critical storage requirements. Cohesity customers also have requested tighter integration with their Pure Storage products, which we’ve been releasing in our product since 2016. Cohesity’s DataProtect module provides automatic snapshot based protection for any of Pure’s products, FlashArray//M, //X, FlashStack and Flashblade driven through policy, providing instantaneous, any-point-in-time access and recoverability of their data on Cohesity.
Pure Storage made several new announcements at the conference and the pace of innovation that they have continued with still resembles their early start up roots.
Our partnership with Pure Storage is a significant part of our go-to market strategy and we are very privileged to be a part of the Pure alliance family.
