As Chief Executive Officer and President, Sanjay Poonen leads Cohesity in its mission to radically simplify how organizations manage their data and unlock limitless value.

Sanjay is a proven business executive with over 25 years of experience in scaling multi-billion dollar businesses and building strong teams. Most recently, Sanjay was COO at VMware, where he oversaw sales, marketing, services and alliances, doubling VMware from approximately $6B to $12B in revenue. Poonen played a vital role in architecting multiple successful cloud partnerships, including AWS, Microsoft, Google, and Oracle. He also led the company’s security and end-user computing businesses, including the acquisition of AirWatch and Carbon Black. Prior to VMware, Poonen served as President of SAP where he led SAP’s Applications, Industries and Platform teams, serving in engineering and sales roles that helped double SAP from approximately $10B to $20B in revenue.

He began his career as a software engineer at Microsoft and Apple. Sanjay has an MBA from Harvard Business School, where he graduated a Baker Scholar which designates his position in the top 5% of his graduating class, a master’s degree in management science and engineering from Stanford University, and a bachelor’s degree in computer science, math and engineering from Dartmouth College, where he graduated summa cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa. Sanjay holds two patents. Poonen serves on the Supervisory Board of Philips, and Board of Snyk.

Jay is an accomplished entrepreneur, having founded a series of successful companies, including AirDefense, CipherTrust, CoreHarbor, SecureIT, and Zscaler, now a public company as of March 16, 2018.

Jay has a history of introducing visionary innovations to market that address the demand for securely enabling emerging technology trends, such as the Zscaler global security cloud for distributed and mobile enterprises. Jay’s considerable work in the security technology sector has made him a trusted advisor for many enterprise CIOs and CISOs.

Jay leverages more than 25 years of security industry expertise, including engineering, sales, marketing, and management experience with leading organizations, such as IBM, NCR, and Unisys. Prior to founding Zscaler in 2008, he founded and led AirDefense, a wireless security pioneer, before its acquisition by Motorola. From 2000 to 2006, Jay founded and led CipherTrust, the industry’s first email security gateway, before its merger with Secure Computing. He also founded and led CoreHarbor, a managed ecommerce solution, before it was acquired by USi/AT&T. In 1996, Jay founded and led his first company, SecureIT, the first pure-play internet security service, before it was acquired by VeriSign in 1998.

Jay has been honored as an Ernst & Young “Entrepreneur of the Year (Southeast USA),” an Information Week “Innovator & Influencer,” an SC Magazine “Market Entrepreneur,” an IIT BHU “Distinguished Alumnus,” and a Goldman Sachs “100 Most Intriguing Entrepreneurs.” He earned his MBA in Marketing, MS in Computer Engineering, and MS in Industrial Engineering—all from the University of Cincinnati. He earned his Bachelor of Technology in Electronics Engineering from IIT BHU Varanasi. Jay has completed the Executive Management Program from Harvard Business School.

Ray is currently the Vice President of Cloud and Technology Alliances for Tenable, a public cyber security company focused on vulnerability and exposure management. He has spent the last 25 years in various leadership and executive positions at cyber security organizations driving consulting practices or strategic partnership teams globally. He started his career in cyber with Deloitte and has including stops at other global companies such as Internet Security Systems, McAfee, Symantec and CrowdStrike.

Ray graduated from SUNY Fredonia with a BS in Finance and then earned his MBA from UC Irvine with a focus on information systems. He resides in Huntington Beach California, along with his two teenage daughters and three legged tortoise named Lightning.

As Shumaker’s Chief Information Officer (CIO), Tony is responsible for information technology (IT) and security initiatives across the firm. He believes that a robust technology infrastructure, the right people, and streamlined processes are the keys to making a law firm more productive for lawyers, as well as the clients they serve. In his role, he collaborates with the firm’s lawyers and professional staff to define and leverage highly secure and innovative solutions that enhance the firm and empower its internal and external clients.

Bringing more than 20 years of experience to the firm, Tony has a proven track record of success leading technology for law firms. Most recently, he served as the CIO for a prominent AMLAW200 law firm.

In IT operations, his scope of responsibilities include:

• Developing a strategic firm-wide roadmap and budget for technology
• Leading and implementing robust cyber security initiatives and controls
• Working closely with the executive leadership team to execute on firm strategy and technology-related initiatives
• Leading a team across multiple IT disciplines, including applications, infrastructure, service delivery, eDiscovery, training, operations and security

When not working, Tony enjoys playing golf, traveling with his wife, and spending time with his large family.

Known for his ability to communicate both technically and conceptually, Dale “Dr. Z” Zabriskie has consulted with IT professionals across the globe, advising on implementing effective cyber security strategies. He is a CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional) and certified in Cloud Security Knowledge (CCSK).

In his 20-year cybersecurity career, Dr. Z has advised major healthcare, public sector, finance, retail, entertainment, and manufacturing organizations in over fifty countries. He has also been a popular moderator and participant in numerous industry panels. His expertise is supported by career experience in information technology, regulatory compliance, research and development, marketing, and sales.

Before joining Cohesity, Dr. Z served as the Global Evangelist for Symantec for over 16 years. Prior companies include Proofpoint, Veritas, SunGard, and IBM.

Tonya Chin joined Cohesity in March 2022 and currently serves as the Group Vice President of Corporate Communications and Investor Relations. She brings over two decades of experience in the technology industry, sharing corporate insights and narratives with internal and external constituents. Chin leads the company’s global communications functions and is responsible for promoting the overall reputation of Cohesity. Her responsibilities include media relations, industry analyst relations, employee communications, social media and investor relations. Prior to Cohesity, Chin was responsible for Communications, Corporate Marketing and Investor Relations at Nutanix. She also held leadership positions at Aruba Networks, Solectron, and Ernst and Young. Tonya holds a bachelor of science degree from Santa Clara University.
