We introduced our Helios SaaS portfolio of data security and data management services and our first SaaS offering, Cohesity DataProtect delivered as a Service, in 2020 due to increasing customer demands to reduce infrastructure management and instead focus on the data. We are proud that we came together with AWS in a strategic collaboration to bring Helios SaaS to market. Today, after nearly two years, not only have we continued to roll out new security SaaS offerings, but our collaboration with AWS is stronger than ever. AWS remains our preferred cloud provider for Helios SaaS.
Over time, we have seen more organizations mature in their cloud journey and adopt multiple cloud platforms. In fact, according to the Flexera State of the Cloud 2022 report, 89% of organizations today embrace a multicloud strategy. We recognized early on that customers would be multicloud, and our cloud-native approach has long supported Cohesity software running on multiple clouds including AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud and other service providers. Today, as IT rapidly adopts as a service solutions, we are expanding choice for our customers’ various business needs. While the Helios SaaS control plane will continue to reside on AWS, we will provide data plane support for other clouds, starting with Microsoft Azure. For customers with requirements to keep their data on a specific cloud (for example, those who want to back up Microsoft 365 workloads onto Azure), this level of choice is timely and practical. We expect to have news to share on additional Helios SaaS multicloud capabilities in the coming months and quarters.
We’ve built a comprehensive portfolio of data security and data management offerings with Helios SaaS on AWS including backup, disaster recovery, data isolation, and data governance—and we’ll continue to collaborate and innovate with them to bring new offerings and options to market as customer priorities change and evolve.
