MEDIA ALERT: Cohesity Global Field CTO Introduces Sub-15 Minute Data Center Recovery for VMware Cloud Foundation at VMworld 2017 on Aug. 29

August 28, 2017

WHAT:
Enterprise Protection and Reliability for VMware Cloud Foundation with Cohesity
Cohesity and VMware will introduce the market’s first hyperconverged data protection solution for VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) at the VMworld 2017 conference in Las Vegas on Aug. 29. The joint solution delivering simple data protection, data center recovery in less than 15 minutes, and a multi-cloud data fabric to complement VCF – VMware’s natively integrated enterprise infrastructure stack for both private and public clouds – will be unveiled at a 2:30pm breakout session.

WHO:
Rawlinson Rivera, Global Field CTO, Cohesity
Alberto Farronato, Senior Director of Product Marketing, VMware

INFO:
The breakout session will demonstrate Cohesity DataProtect for VCF, which provides protection and fast recovery for VCF that can be leveraged in private, public, and hybrid cloud to empower enterprise organizations to keep pace with escalating business demands for service availability, security, and recoverability. Delivering complete restores in less than 15 minutes, Cohesity’s radically efficient, hyperconverged secondary storage platform extends VCF and data protection from on-premises to the cloud for disaster recovery, while simultaneously supporting DevOps and other secondary storage use cases.

“The only thing businesses really want from their backup solution is recovery,” said Howard Marks, founder and chief scientist at DeepStorage, an independent test lab that evaluates storage products. “Instant recovery of a VM is great; Cohesity recovering a whole data center in under 20 minutes is a game changer.”

“Beyond VMware infrastructure, this protection recovery solution represents an amazing innovation for recovering enterprise mission critical apps,” said Keith Townsend, a principal at The CTO Advisor, which focuses on optimizing customers’ IT infrastructures.
