Cohesity Adds New Marketing and Sales Executives to Facilitate Growing Demand For Secondary Storage Consolidation

Hyperconverged Secondary Storage Leader Hires Actifio and Dropbox Executives to Drive Product Awareness and Promote Storage Consolidation Savings

Santa Clara, Calif. – March 15, 2016 – Cohesity, the pioneer of hyperconverged secondary storage, today added former Dropbox and Actifio executives to the company’s veteran roster to meet growing demand for secondary storage consolidation. Nikolaus Oberhuber has been appointed as head of sales for Cohesity’s U.S. East division, Canada and United Kingdom, and Mike Kim will serve as head of field marketing. “Cohesity has experienced rapid growth since our public launch last year, fueled by the increased focus on secondary storage consolidation and the resulting cost savings,” said Mohit Aron, founder and CEO of Cohesity. “As Cohesity continues to invest in top-tier industry talent, Nick and Mike will be great additions to our team. We are excited to have them on board to support our company as it expands nationally and internationally.”

Oberhuber joins Cohesity from Actifio, where he served as vice president of sales, east, for more than four years. At Actifio, he was responsible for leading and expanding the sales team, resulting in the highest performance of any region in the company. Oberhuber’s team achieved over $50 million in total bookings across new accounts in the company. In his new role, he will report to Cohesity COO Riccardo Di Blasio, and lead Cohesity’s teams in the U.S. East Coast, including Midwest, Southeast, Canada and United Kingdom.

“Customers have been looking for innovation in available secondary storage offerings in response to existing options that are complex, expensive and inefficient,” said Oberhuber. “Cohesity’s hyperconverged, web-scale offering is the first platform to address all the secondary storage workloads while dramatically reducing costs for customers. I’m excited to join such a talented team at this critical time for the company, and look forward to working with Riccardo and the rest of the sales team to further increase the company’s market growth.”

With more than 15 years of tech marketing experience, Kim joins Cohesity from the cloud storage giant Dropbox, where he served as head of demand generation. Before that, he spent more than a decade working in demand generation and product marketing roles at Pure Storage, Cloudera and VMware.

“After decades of complexity and technological stagnation, the storage market is transforming before our eyes,” said Kim. “With the meteoric rise of flash and hyperconverged infrastructure, Cohesity is leading the enterprise into a new era. I’m excited to join an amazing team with deep storage roots and a proven track record of supporting the needs of enterprise IT.”
