Why LinkedIn Named Cohesity as One of the 50 Most In-Demand Startups in the U.S.

If you just heard a collective 270-employee-strong “woot!” coming from Silicon Valley, it’s because we just learned that LinkedIn is counting Cohesity among “the top 50 industry disruptors you need to know now”.

Considering there’s a startup born about every minute, and getting noticed on social media is no small feat, we are beyond pleased to make LinkedIn’s “Top Companies | Startups” this year.

Led by Mohit Aron, Cohesity is the pioneer of hyperconverged secondary storage. That may be a mouthful to say, but make no mistake, this is a red-hot space – and folks on LinkedIn have noticed. The evidence for this is in the number of followers tracking Cohesity, over 11,000 and counting, the number of new hires we’re adding (watch our various social feeds for continuous news on that), and our global expansion.

This recognition illustrates how Cohesity is disrupting the status of the data center with exciting new software that is revolutionizing the storage industry. And it highlights our company growth over the past year, as well as the number of people who continue to be interested in Cohesity.

Making the LinkedIn list also dovetails another award Cohesity just received: This week we were also named as a winner of the 2017 TMCnet Tech Culture Award, which “seeks to recognize the best-of-the-best work cultures within the technology sector.”

Moreover, for two years in a row (2016 & 2017) we have been honored by The Bay Area News Group for being a Top Workplace. The best part of this top-workplace award? These lists are based solely on the results of an employee-feedback survey administered by WorkplaceDynamics, LLC, which specializes in organizational health and workplace improvement.

For its part, LinkedIn decides which companies to name as “Top Companies | Startups” by reviewing actions on the social platform (think likes and shares) to determine which startups are most in demand. It looks at “employee growth, job seeker interest via views and applications, member engagement with the company and its employees — and how well these startups pulled talent from our flagship LinkedIn Top Companies list.”

And it highlights our goal at Cohesity of creating an environment where people thrive personally and professionally. As we continue to grow, we want to stay true to the rewarding, balanced, and exciting culture that has made this company one of the best places to work in the Bay Area. We are so honored that LinkedIn recognized this in us.
